The 1962 Honda RC170 285 was a rare works hybrid, created by over-boring Honda’s 250cc four-cylinder to 285cc for early 350cc competition.

Producing around 52 bhp at 13,000 rpm, its DOHC inline four featured a central gear-driven cam system and close-ratio six-speed gearbox.

Ridden by Jim Redman, it helped secure both 250cc and 350cc world titles during Honda’s early Grand Prix rise.
