Suzuki TR500 Moncoque

The 1973 Seeley-Suzuki TR500 Monocoque was a unique British prototype combining Colin Seeley chassis design with Suzuki TR500 two-stroke power.

Using an aluminium monocoque frame inspired by Formula 1 construction, it aimed to improve rigidity and reduce weight compared with traditional tubular designs.

Tested by Barry Sheene, it showed promise but received little development, remaining one of racing’s most fascinating “what might have been” projects.
